How Is Freight Calculated?

Jess Crate is committed to delivering the best possible value-not just in our products, but in how they’re delivered.

To keep freight costs competitive, we bid each shipment across a network of trusted carriers and select the most cost-effective option available. Those savings are passed directly on to you. With flexible delivery options such as Drop Ship, Inside Delivery, and Full-Service Installation, you can choose the level of service that best fits your needs and budget.While some suppliers advertise “free shipping,” those costs are often built into the product price. At Jess Crate, we take a transparent approach—clearly outlining both product and freight costs so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Drop Ship (Standard Freight Delivery)
Merchandise is palletized and delivered via tractor-trailer. The driver will position items at the rear of the truck. Your team is responsible for unloading and moving items into your facility. Advance notice (24–48 hours) may be provided.

Curbside Delivery
The driver will unload and place items at the curb or loading area. Your team is responsible for bringing items inside.

Full-Service Delivery & Installation
A delivery crew will:

  • Deliver items inside your facility

  • Place furniture in designated areas

  • Assemble products as needed

  • Remove and dispose of packaging

Note: Delivery areas must be cleared in advance. Additional charges may apply for stairs, limited access, or special conditions.

We offer a full range of delivery options to fit your timeline, budget, and level of service.

Our most economical option, Drop Shipping, is handled by common freight carriers and may offer limited flexibility for scheduled delivery appointments. However, we can request added services-such as delivery appointments, liftgate service, or inside delivery-when submitting your shipment to our carrier network.

If the quoted cost for these additional services meets your approval, we will include them in your order so your delivery is tailored to your needs.

Most furniture orders are delivered within 4-10 weeks after receipt of order (ARO), depending on the items selected. Orders that include upholstery, custom finishes, or product modifications typically require 10-14 weeks. We will keep you informed of any unexpected delays and provide updates as needed.

If your project has specific deadlines-such as a grand opening or inspection-please let us know as early as possible. We can help identify in-stock or expedited options to help meet your timeline.
